The Board adopts the guidelines of the Academic Committee from time to time for the conduct of examinations. The evaluation process is carried out according to the scheme laid down by the Academic Committee of the Board. Board examinations are conducted at the end of each term for the programmes undertaken by the students.
Registered students of the Board have the option to appear in examinations through the On-Demand Examination System (ODES). Students may appear in the examination as per their preparation and convenience, subject to availability of seats in the examination schedule.
The evaluation of students consists of both internal and external assessment methods. The internal evaluation is conducted through various academic activities such as written tests, assignments, presentations, seminars, projects, and field visits.
External evaluation is carried out through the Term End Examination, which may include written examinations, practical experiments, and viva-voce assessments depending on the subject. Both internal and external evaluations are carried out using the direct grading system as prescribed under the rules and regulations of the Board.
HSOBS recognizes prior academic achievements and allows transfer of credits up to two subjects passed from member boards of the Council of Boards of School Education in India (COBSE).
Secondary or Senior Secondary students from COBSE member boards who have passed in at least one subject but could not qualify the programme may seek admission in the respective certificate programme at HSOBS and avail the facility of transfer of credit.
